We run a selection of short items in our Business Briefs section each month that includes such things as grand openings, new product lines, hiring or promotion of key employees (photos welcome), moves to new locations, major building expansions, and new ownership or management. 

We welcome ideas for stories about issues of interest to the business community, and ideas for feature stories about innovative businesses or local entrepreneurs. Story ideas can include how someone succeeded in a highly competitive field; developed a new product or service; created a new niche or business model; why someone selected South County for their business location; or how a local city or agency encouraged new business to locate in this area.

Your ideas:
• Must be related to businesses located in South King County.
• Cannot be a repetition of something from another news source.
• Must be about a legitimate business.
• Should have some aspect that makes them interesting or unique: a personality, idea or result that stands out from the crowd.

Like most newspapers, our advertising and news departments are separate. All news content is determined by the editor and publisher.

Announcements of such things as upcoming sales, extended hours or free delivery are not considered news items. We offer advertising space for such things, which is how we pay for publication and distribution of The Business Report, and how you can offer your products and services to our readers.
